| Products of The Month | April '13

Here are my favourite and most used products of April! Surprisingly, a couple of old products have snuck back into my life this month, thanks to the cooling weather, but as always, because all I do is spend these days (cries), there are some newbies as well.

Laneige Hydra Solution Eye Cream
Since the weather is (finally) cooling down here I thought I would bring out the big guns. My under-eye area suffers in winter so I've decided to start early on the moisturizing front. This eye cream from Laneige is their most hydrating, and also helps to brighten under the eye as well.

Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator
I dislike exfoliators that are too harsh for your skin but also hate it when they're not harsh enough. This one is the perfect balance between the two for me. I also love how much brighter my skin looks after using this and am really dreading running out because of how expensive it is to ship from the UK :( Why do I always have to love the most expensive and unattainable products. Why?!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick #19
No.19 isn't a particularly exciting colour, but it does enhance the natural colour of my lips and it's great for a casual, everyday look for me.

YSL Shocking Mascara
I've had this mascara for quite a while now but only recently fallen in love with it again. It makes all my other mascaras look pretty rubbish to be honest.  It gives everything I want in a mascara, volume, length, definition and I know this might sound a bit weird but it smells really nice.

Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche Perfume
This perfume is probably better suited for the warmer seasons, because of its strong citrus like scent, but I love it so much I've been using it everyday since I bought it.

My first favourites post in ages! I should really start doing this every month now, it's great to go through your products and see what you have and haven't been using. 

Shu Uemura Skin Purifier Cleansing Oil

This product is great for removing makeup, and it doesn’t clog pores or strip the skin either. Review to come! 

 

Botani Boost Balancing Moisturiser

An organic, anti-bacterial, balancing moisturiser that also fights against blemishes? I’m sold. And now that it's Autumn, and my skin is less oily, this moisturiser helps to balance my skin, protecting it from becoming too dry but not making it too oily either.

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Oil

I’ve heard many great things about this oil, so when my Trilogy Rosehip oil ran dry I decided to give Kiehl’s a go. So far I am loving the results, and will definitely be posting a full review on this soon.

Portmans Polish in 'Opulent Peacock'

August Favourites

My first favourites list (yay!), and surprisingly, despite all the make up I've been buying for the last few months, it's practically all skincare. Anyway, let's get to it:

5. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment with SPF15

Thanks to this stuff, my lips survived through winter, and I have to say, they have never felt better. They flake less, and always feel soft and supple now. It has a very refreshing scent as well, like lime and sugar, and literally melts onto your lips. I never thought I would be one to pay $30 for a lip balm but I am sold; even if the packaging is worth 90% of the price, I'll be back for more regardless.

4. Batiste Dry Shampoo

I've never been very excited about dry shampoos...until Batiste came a long. Unlike some other dry shampoos on the market, this one is incredibly easy to use, just spray and brush. I have insanely dry, frizzy hair but because my hair is quite fine the roots are always oily by day two. This product has really saved me the trouble of washing my hair everyday, and has made my second day hair a lot more manageable. 

3. My Beauty Diary Apple Polyphenol Masks

I love this mask, and no words can express how upset I was when I ran out of these babies. The purpose of these Apple Polyphenol masks is oil control and pore constringing, but I've found it's really helped clear up and prevent acne. It's also incredibly moisturising and smooths and firms the skin. It's designed for normal skin but I highly recommend this to anyone with large pores and acne. Also, My Beauty Diary masks are really good value for money. I don't know about the rest of the world but in Australia I pay about $12 for a 3sheet pack, My Beauty Diary on the other hand it's $13 for 10 sheets. I know, ridiculous right?

2. Alpha-H Liquid Gold

I've been using this product for about two months now and it's now become a staple in my skincare routine. The results it gave my acne prone skin were amazing. The morning after I first tried this product I was stunned at how different my skin looked. Not only does it help to clarify your skin, fight and prevent acne it gives you brighter (almost glowing), happy, healthy looking skin. I think it's safe to say that I'll definitely be repurchasing this product in the future.

1. Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

Facial oils are incredibly misunderstood. For my entire life I've learned to stay away from skincare with certain ingredients in them, especially oil, so it took me a while to build up the courage and buy this product. This rosehip oil focuses on treating multiple skin problems including acne, wrinkles, scars and stretch marks; and in general nourishes the skin. After just one week I noticed that my acne had greatly reduced (and was staying away!) my scars had faded and in general my skin looked healthy and happy. As someone with combination/oily skin I only apply this at night time, but it can also be used as a daily moisturiser for those with dry skin. For an all-in-one facial treatment/serum it's very affordable. I only paid $22 AUD for 20ml. At this point, feels like I'm sold for life.
