I was never really
one for making goals or resolutions, in fact the last time I made a goal for
myself was back in high school during one our 'goal making' classes. I just found
the whole procedure very tedious, and I never took them seriously. However,
five years out of school, uncertain of what I was doing, I was in desperate need of a little guidance. By guidance, I mean I found
myself in a Kiki K store. Is it sad I went searching for the cure for all my
problems at a stationary store? Maybe, but they do have a great range of inspirational journals for
goal making, happiness, health and dreams.
I went for the Health/Wellbeing
journal because it orientates around what I want to improve on this year:
fitness, diet, sleep, and routine. For someone who is
goal-challenged this journal is the perfect opportunity to kick my butt into
gear. It has timetables, inspirational quotes, and goal orientated questions
that you can fill out on a monthly basis throughout the year.
Another addition to
my new year, new start pile was Gretchen Rubin's The Happiness Project. Kiki K
carry their own exclusive copy of the New York bestseller, with a super cute cover. This book is by no means a step by step
guide on how to obtain a perfect life but Rubin's mix of real life
stories, research and methods has really motivated me to start
looking at changing the little things in my life. A lot of things I didn't even notice made
such a huge impact. Last, but not least is the little daily habits and goal pad. Just a cute little
checklist that I'm hoping will help me monitor my good habits and quash the bad ones.
This is the first year I've taken my resolutions seriously. Let's see how long I can keep it up for.
I loved that book & that cover is so cute! It really is amazing how it makes you realise the smaller things that you take for granted are usually the things that you need to learn to appreciate to be happy. Her other book happier at home is quite good too. :)
ReplyDeleteI saw that one! I'll definitely check it out once I've finished this one.
DeleteOhhh, awesome. I need to go to Kikki K now. I need all the help I can get to stick to my resolutions. xD
ReplyDeleteIf it's any encouragement, I've stuck to all of mine so far, and it's almost the end of January. It's amazing how much some cute looking (and practical) stationary can do for your life :D
